Introduction to Dance – Early Childhood Dance / Introduction à la danse – Jeunes enfants

This course provides the basic foundation for future participation in all dance styles and the performing arts. We learn self-expression, how to move the body, how to develop coordinated motor skills, musical principles, and how to work together safely and harmoniously. The course is largely taught through songs, games, and imagery which stimulate young children’s natural imaginative and movement abilities.

Ce cours offre à chaque enfant les bases pour pouvoir participer plus tard à tout type de cours de danse ou d’activité dans le domaine des arts du spectacle. Les élèves y apprennent l’expression personnelle, la manière de bouger, de coordonner leurs mouvements, la musicalité, ainsi que le fait de travailler en groupe. Le cours s’organise principalement autour de chansons, de jeux et de situations imaginaires visant à stimuler l’imagination naturelle des jeunes enfants et leur motricité.

About the instructor / A propos de l’intervenante

Francesca Sternfeld is a Modern dancer and dance instructor from Salt Lake City, Utah, one of the major cities for dance in the United States. After 10 years of gymnastics, she became a performing member of Children’s Dance Theater, part of the Virginia Tanner Creative Dance Program of the University of Utah. After interning with Senior Faculty, she became an instructor in 2005, participating in many full-scale performances as a choreographer and performer until moving to Egypt in 2009. She is dedicated to providing enriching, creative courses for children and adults at Rezodanse. Fluent in English and French and developing her Arabic, she is able to provide instruction for the wide range of Rézodanse’s clientele.

Francesca Sternfeld est professeur et interprète en danse moderne, originaire de Salt Lake City (USA), l’un des centres pour la danse aux Etats-Unis. Après 10 ans de gymnastique, elle intègre la Compagnie de Danse pour Enfants du Virginia Tanner Creative Dance Program de l’Université d’Utah. Elle commence à enseigner en 2005, et participe à de nombreuses productions en tant qu’interprète et chorégraphe, avant de s’installer en Egypte en 2009. Elle entend contribuer à l’enrichissement artistique de chacun de ses élèves. Elle enseigne en anglais, français et arabe.
