Centre Rézodanse -Egypt is associated to the project SEEDS- a contemporary dance educational action to Egypt. The project is an initiative held by the Arts Center of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina working in partnership with the British Council, Egypt, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Egypt. It aims at fostering contemporary dance access for all by providing an extensive contemporary Dance Teachers Training added to a large dance educational activity towards the civil society, children and youth conceived as part of the practical field work of the vocational skills training program SEEDS.
Within this framework, Centre Rézodanse- Egypte is acting as an incubator for dance teachers by hosting the practical fieldwork of the project. From November 2014 till January 2015, CentreRézodanse is offering regular contemporary dance classes and workshops provided by the dance teachers (Seeders) who are following the extensive training SEEDS. Thanks to the partnerships that Centre Rézodanse has built with several Alexandrian schools, the seeders will also provide contemporary dance workshops in both girls and boys schools.

This practical field work is organized in collaboration with the local cultural organizations and schools associated to the action: Jesuit Cultural Centre and Oyoon Art Group Company (Al Minya-Upper Egypt), Noon creative enterprise, EzzatEzzat Contemporary dance Studio and Darb 1718 Contemporary Art & Culture Center (Cairo), Centre Rezodanse-Egypt and Studio Elmadina (Alexandria), including the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and the British Council, Cairo.
Background
This project was conceived out of the necessity to support and reinforce the role of artistic education in promoting social responsibility, social cohesion, cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue (UNESCO Seoul Agenda -2010). It considers that Art Education is an essential part of the global cultural and civic education and focuses more specifically on dance education.
In today’s Egypt, the increase of contemporary dance practice as a social recreational activity for children and youth and the growing awareness of its psychological and physical benefits on human development are expanding. It is shifting the function of dance from a mere entertainment to a creative educational practice. Dance enables youth to understand and perceive themselves, the other and the society they live in. By reinforcing self-esteem and trust, it develops responsible attitudes towards social wellbeing and environmental concerns. Therefore, it is a tool for youth and children to gain learning abilities in order to respond creatively to challenges of the society as future citizens.
The Egyptian contemporary dance artists have become more than ever aware of the role contemporary dance can play as a vehicle for young people to express, communicate and translate physically their emotions, ideas, identity and culture. They are aware of the human and social inputs they can transmit to others through this art form and they are willing to introduce it gradually within the educational sphere in order to contribute in fostering artistic understanding and cultural awareness.
Within this dynamic, becoming well-trained dance teachers is a key element. Those teachers will be the leaders assuming on one hand the professional development of the next generation of dancers and the ones participating actively in spreading this cultural art form and making it accessible for all.
The project
SEEDS will respond in the most accurate way to this need. It will provide a consistent extensive training for 20 dance teachers in Egypt, targeting dance community members combined with a large educational dance activity towards the civil society.
SEEDS will accompany and support these dancers in developing their leadership skills and education knowledge, expand their dance vocational activity and build their network of contacts within cultural field, cultural organizations and across the education sector. It will improve expertise and evaluation abilities for both dancers and cultural organizations collaborating in the project and spread dance as a regular educational activity in Egypt.
The participating dance teachers will follow 345 hours of theoretical and practical learning, conducted by dance learning teaching educators based in Europe (United Kingdom and France), and in the Arab World (Lebanon and Egypt). They will be held at EzzatEzzat Contemporary Dance Studio, in Giza, Cairo. The program will enable the dance teachers to sharpen their transmission skills, develop their analysis of movement and elaborate their pedagogy approach in order to adapt it to all kind of dance levels, audience and contexts and insure safe and effective dance practice. In order to achieve this goal, the participants will undertake a practical fieldwork under the supervision of a qualified tutor. They will conceive and conduct dance educational projects with and for cultural organizations, including public and/or private schools, across Egypt.
SEEDS also includes the creation of the Egypt contemporary dance training website. Hosted by the performance hub Meetphool it is dedicated to gathering and sharing information about dance training opportunities in Egypt. It aims at sustaining and empowering a professional network between the Egyptian Contemporary dancers, professionals, amateurs, Egyptian dance companies, cultural operators and the education field.
In January 2015, SEEDS will be marked by a closing certification ceremony where an international dance committee will hand participating dance teachers their certificate for having accomplished successfully the program. This event will take place at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and will contribute to the acknowledgment of a new promotion of Egyptian contemporary dance trainers.

بذور- حركة تعليمة للرقص المعاصر في مصر

يشارك مركز ريزودانس – مصر في مشروع بذور ، المشروع هو مبادرة يقيمها مركز الفنون في مكتبة الإسكندرية بالشراكة مع المجلس الثقافي البريطاني بمصر، بدعم من بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي في مصر ويهدف إلى تعزيز وصول الرقص المعاصر للجميع من خلال توفيرتدريب شامل و واسع النطاق لمُدربي الرقص المعاصر بالإضافة إلي النشاط التعليمي للرقص تجاه مجتمعنا المدني و نشر ثقافتة علي الصعيد الميداني
ويتم تنظيم هذا العمل الميداني بالتعاون مع المنظمات المحلية الثقافية والمدارس المنتسبة إلى العمل مثل مركز الجيزويت الثقافي ومجموعة عيون الفنية (المنيا – صعيد مصر) و شركة نون للأبداع و ستوديو عزت عزت للرقص المعاصر و درب 1718 للفنون و الثقافة المعاصرة و ستوديو المدينة و مركز ريزودانس – مصر ، بما في ذلك مكتبة الإسكندرية، والمجلس الثقافي البريطاني بالقاهرة
في هذا الإطار، يقوم مركز ايجيبت ريزودانس – مصر بتقديم البيئة الحاضنة لمُعلمين الرقص من خلال استضافة العمل الميداني العملي للمشروع
بدءاً من نوفمبر 2014 حتى يناير عام 2015 سيقوم مركز ريزودانس – مصر بتقديم صفوف لتعليم الرقص المعاصر و سيقوم المركز بعمل ورش عمل للكبار من المستويين المبتداين و ذوي المستوي المتوسط و أيضاً ورش أخري تستهدف الضغار من سن 5 سنين فما فوق و سيقدمها المدربين المشاركين بمشروع « بذور » و بفضل علاقات مركز ريزودانس الجيدة بمدارس الإسكندرية ستقام ورش عمل بمدارس عديدة بالإسكندرية
: خلفية عن المشروع
جاء تنفيذ هذا المشروع من ضرورة دعم وتعزيز دور التعليم الفني في النهوض بالمسؤولية الإجتماعية والتماسك الإجتماعي والتنوع الثقافي والحوار بين الثقافات (جدول أعمال مؤتمراليونسكو سيول -2010) حيث يُعتبر أن التربية الفنية هو جزء أساسي من التعليم الثقافي والمدني العالمي، ويركز بشكل خاص على تعليم الرقص
في مصر اليوم تتوسع معرفة الناس بالرقص المعاصر ولُحظ زيادة ممارسته كنشاط ترفيهي اجتماعي للأطفال والشباب وتزايد الوعي عن فوائده النفسية والجسدية على التنمية البشرية
أيضاً لُحظ تحول وظيفة الرقص من مجرد ترفيه إلي ممارسات تعليمية إبداعية تمكن الشباب من فهم وإدراك أنفسهم، والآخر والمجتمع الذي يعيشون فيه من خلال تعزيز احترام الذات والثقة بالنفس
و لذلك يُعد الرقص أداة للشباب والأطفال لاكتساب قدرات التعلم من أجل الاستجابة بشكل خلاق لتحديات المجتمع كمواطنين في المستقبل
أصبح فنانين الرقص المعصر بالإسكندرية علي علم أكثر من أي وقت مضى بدور الرقص المعاصرحيث أنه وسيلة للشباب للتعبير والتواصل ولترجمة عواطفهم جسدياً وأفكارهم والهوية والثقافة و هم أيضاً على علم بالمساهمات البشرية والاجتماعية التي يمكن أن تنقل إلى الآخرين من خلال هذا الشكل الفني وأنهم على استعداد لعرضه تدريجياً داخل المجال التعليمي من أجل المساهمة في تعزيز التفاهم والوعي الثقافي الفني
: المشروع
عن طريق مشروع بذور سيتم توفير تدريب مكثف ثابت ل 20 من معلمين الرقص المعاصر في مصر كما أنه سيرافق ويدعم الراقصين في تطوير مهاراتهم القيادية والمعرفة والتعليم، وتوسيع النشاط المهني الرقص وبناء شبكة من الاتصالات داخل المجال الثقافي والمنظمات الثقافية وعبر قطاع التعليم أيضاً وبذلك يتم تحسين الخبرات وتقييم القدرات لكل من الراقصين والهيئات الثقافية المتعاونة في المشروع وينتشر الرقص كنشاط تعليمي منتظم في مصر
سينخرط معلمين الرقص المعاصر في تدريب لمدة 345 ساعة من التعلم النظري و العملي علي أيدي من أوروبا (المملكة المتحدة وفرنسا)، ومعلمين من العالم العربي (لبنان ومصر)
هدف البرنامج هو تمكين المعلمين الرقص و شحذ مهاراتهم وتطوير تحليلهم للحركة ووضع نهج أو طريق للتدريس الخاص بهم من أجل تكييفه مع كل نوع من مستويات الرقص والجمهور والسياقات وضمان ممارسة الرقص بآمان وفعالية
من أجل تحقيق هذا الهدف، سيقوم المشاركون بإجراء العمل الميداني العملي تحت إشراف مدرس مؤهل وسوف يتصورن تنفيذ مشاريع تعليمية للرقص بالأشتراك مع المنظمات الثقافية، بما في ذلك المدارس العامة و / أو الخاصة، في جميع أنحاء مصر
يشمل مشروع بذور أيضاً إنشاء موقع لتدريب الرقص المعاصر يستضيفه مركز الأداء Meetphool وهو يكرس جهوده لجمع وتبادل المعلومات حول فرص تدريب الرقص في مصر بهدف دعم وتمكين أقامة شبكة مهنية بين الراقصين والمهنيين والهواة والشركات المصرية للرقص ومشغلي المراكز الثقافية المصرية ومجال التعليم
و في في يناير 2015 ، سيقام حفل الختام حيث ستقوم لجنة الرقص الدولية بتسليم المعلمين المشاركين شهادتهم بعد أن أنجزوا هذا البرنامج بنجاح
سوف يعقد هذا الحدث في مكتبة الإسكندرية وسيسهم في الترويج لجيل جديد من مدربين الرقص المعاصر في مصر

SEEDS – une action pédagogique pour la danse contemporaine en Egypt
En 2014 – 2015, le Centre Rézodanse – Egypte accueille SEEDS, une action de formation à l’enseignement de la danse contemporaine en Egypte. Ce projet est une initiative du Centre des Arts de la Bibliothèque d’Alexandrie, en partenariat avec le British Council en Egypte, avec le soutien de la Délégation de l’Union Européenne en Egypte. Il vise à favoriser l’accès de la danse contemporaine pour tous, à travers une formation intensive à l’enseignement de la danse contemporaine suivie en parallèle par un programme de formation professionnelle sur le terrain. De nombreuses activités pédagogiques envers la société civile, les enfants et les jeunes sont ainsi organisées.
Ce travail de terrain est conduit en collaboration avec plusieurs structures culturelles locales et quelques écoles, tels que le Jesuit Cultural Centre et Oyoon Art Group Company à Al Minya en Haute Egypte ; Noon creative enterprise, Ezzat Ezzat Contemporary dance Studio et Darb 1718 Contemporary Art & Culture Center au Caire ; Centre Rézodanse-Egypt et le Studio Elmadina à Alexandrie, ainsi que la Bibliothèque d’Alexandrie et le British Council au Caire.
Pépinière de futurs professeurs de danse contemporaine, le Centre Rézodanse- Egypte participe à la mise en pratique du projet sur le terrain. De novembre 2014 à janvier 2015, Rézodanse proposera des cours réguliers de danse contemporaine et des ateliers pour les adultes débutants et intermédiaires, ainsi que pour les enfants à partir de l’âge de 5 ans, encadrés par les danseurs (les « seeders ») qui suivent actuellement le programme SEEDS de formation. Grâce aux partenariats que Rézodanse a construit avec plusieurs écoles d’Alexandrie, les seeders encadrerons également des ateliers directement dans des écoles.
Contexte
Ce projet a été conçu sur la nécessité de soutenir et de renforcer le rôle de l’éducation artistique en promouvant la responsabilité sociale, la cohésion sociale, la diversité culturelle et le dialogue interculturel (UNESCO Agenda de Séoul -2010). Nous considérons que l’Education Artistique est une partie essentielle de l’éducation culturelle et civique universelle, en nous concentrant plus particulièrement sur l’éducation à la danse.
Actuellement en Egypte, la pratique de la danse contemporaine en tant qu’activité sociale de loisirs pour les enfants et les jeunes et la prise de conscience de ses avantages psychologiques et physiques sur le développement humain sont en hausse. L’image de la danse comme simple divertissement évolue vers une prise de conscience d’une pratique éducative créatrice à part entière. La danse permet en effet aux jeunes de comprendre et de percevoir soi-même, les autres et la société qui les entourent. En renforçant l’estime de soi et la confiance, elle développe des attitudes responsables à l’égard du bien-être social et des préoccupations environnementales. Ainsi, elle est un outil pour les jeunes et les enfants pour acquérir des capacités d’apprentissage afin de répondre de façon créative aux défis de la société en tant que futurs citoyens.
Les danseurs contemporains égyptiens sont devenus plus que jamais conscients du rôle que la danse contemporaine peut jouer comme moyen pour les jeunes d’exprimer, de communiquer et de traduire physiquement leurs émotions, idées, identité et culture. Ils sont conscients des entrées humaines et sociales qu’ils peuvent transmettre à d’autres par cette forme artistique et sont prêts à entrer progressivement dans le domaine de l’éducation afin de contribuer à la compréhension artistique et la sensibilisation culturelle.
Dans cet objectif, devenir un professeur de danse bien formé est un élément clé. Ces enseignants seront les leaders en étant impliqués d’une part, dans le développement professionnel de la prochaine génération de danseurs et en participant activement à la diffusion de cette forme artistique dans l’objectif de la rendre accessible à tous.
Le projet
SEEDS répond précisément à ce besoin. Il fourni une formation approfondie cohérente pour 20 professeurs de danse en Egypte, en ciblant les acteurs du milieu de la danse accompagné d’actions pédagogiques envers la société civile.
SEEDS accompagne et de encourage ces danseurs à développer leurs compétences en leadership et en pratiques éducatives, à développer leur activité professionnelle de danseur et à construire leur réseau de contacts au sein du secteur culturel, des structures culturelles et dans le secteur de l’éducation. Le programme devrait permettre d’améliorer l’expertise et l’évaluation des capacités à la fois des danseurs et des organismes culturels qui collaborent au projet et de promouvoir la danse comme une activité pédagogique ordinaire en Egypte.
Les danseurs participants suivront 345 heures d’apprentissage théorique et pratique, dirigées par des formateurs de formation professionnelle en danse, basés en Europe (Royaume-Uni et la France) et dans le monde arabe (au Liban et en Egypte). Ils se tiendront au Ezzat Ezzat contemporary dance Studio, à Gizeh au Caire. Le programme permettra aux professeurs de danse d’améliorer leurs compétences de transmission, de développer leur analyse du mouvement et d’élaborer une approche pédagogique afin d’adapter leur enseignement à tous types de niveaux, de public et de contexte afin d’assurer une pratique de la danse sûre et efficace. Pour atteindre cet objectif, les participants accompliront des travaux pratiques sur le terrain, sous la supervision d’un tuteur qualifié. Ils devront concevoir et conduire des projets éducatifs de danse avec et pour les organismes culturels partenaires, y compris avec les écoles publiques et / ou privées, à travers l’Égypte.
Le programme SEEDS comprend également la création d’un site web de formation en danse contemporaine en Egypte. Hébergé par la performante plateforme Meetphool, le site sera consacré à la collecte et à l’échange d’informations sur les possibilités de formation en danse en Egypte. Il vise à soutenir et responsabiliser un réseau professionnel entre les danseurs, professionnels, amateurs, compagnies de danse égyptienne, les opérateurs culturels contemporains égyptiens et le domaine de l’éducation.
En Janvier 2015, une cérémonie officielle de remise de certificats clôturera le programme SEEDS. Un comité international de danse remettra leur certificat aux professeurs de danse participants ayant accomplit avec succès l’ensemble du programme. Cet événement aura lieu à la Bibliothèque d’Alexandrie et contribuera à la reconnaissance d’une nouvelle promotion de formateurs de danse contemporaine en Egypte.
