Shapers cooperation project stems from a long standing commitment of partners from both shores of the Mediterranean ; choreographers, festivals, venues for artistic residencies: Ex Nihilo (Marseilles), Rézodanse (Alexandria), Momkin – espaces de possibles (Marseilles) and Nassim el Raqs festival (Alexandria), Mes de Danza, International Contemporary Dance Festival (Seville), Espace Darja (Casablanca), Zvrk Festival, International Contemporary Dance Festival (Sarajevo), In’8 circle – maison de production (Marseilles).

These partners are willing to give a long term perspective to questions of training, to accompany emerging artistic dynamics in public spaces across the Mediterranean, to share and promote the values of exchange, mutual cooperation and citizenship.

 

From April 2016 to September 2018, eight young dancers from Egypt, France, Spain and Morocco will be trained through their participation in the creation of a dance work, questioning their relationship to the city, to the locations, to passers-by, to the public space. Traveling across the Mediterranean region and Europe, always challenging their dance in new contexts, developing a particular relationship with site specific work over time.

 

Around this creation, a series of projects emerge to link operators, artists and audiences, enabling each of them to learn from shared experiences through an equal and sustainable Euro-Mediterranean cooperation ; meeting with those who share our thoughts on the matter: artists, journalists, researchers, trainers, architects, urban developers, …

 

Shapers was developed through the collaboration of all the co-organising partners in 2015. However, the partners left some room for possible future collaborations, as well as some flexibility in the running of the project, to allow as wide a space as possible for collaboration at the grass-root level, and adjust the project throughout its unfolding.

 

TRAINING WHILE CREATING A DANCE PERFORMANCE

 

Training programme for professional dancers

The training started in April 2016 with a first workshop open to Alexandrian and Cairene dancers within the framework of Nassim el Raqs festival. The overall project encompasses a comprehensive programme with 2 workshops, 4 artistic residencies, 4 masterclasses and an international tour. It will end during the summer of 2018.

While the overall training programme is open 8 dancers, workshops and masterclasses are targeting a much wider audience of dancers, either professional or in the throes of becoming professional.

 

The dance creation

An original dance piece for 8 dancers, it is the backbone of the cooperation project.

 

Masterclasses

A series of 4 masterclasses will be held in 2017-2018 in Marseilles, Casablanca, Alexandria and Seville. Each masterclass will be delivered by a guest choreographer and held within the partner organization’s premises. It is open to the 8 dancers who took part in the creation process, as well as to other dancers, either professional or in the throes of becoming professional.

International tour

A basis for the mobility of the dancers and the organizing partners of the project, the tour around festivals of the Mediterranean region and beyond gives an opportunity to showcase this cooperation experience to a wide audience and to stakeholders in the field. It is also a great learning opportunity for the dancers, a source of professional experience and a way to nourish their own artistic background, through their encounters with different cultures.

 

Two conferences about dance with a site specific approach

Two conferences, attended by high profile lecturers specialised in the field of dance in public space, will be held during the course of the project. They will bring some food for thought and a way to explore some common artistic grounds. The first conference will take place in Marseilles in November 2017, while the second one will take place in Düsseldorf within the frame of the Tanzmesse in September 2018.

 

Two International gatherings

Beyond the regular meetings of the organising partners of the project, two wider gatherings will take place in Sarajevo and Lisbonne respectively in 2017 and 2018, with the aim of provoking new ideas for cooperation to implement within the Mediterranean region, in the field of dance in public space.

 

Digital platform

A web portal will be launched, in order to record and share Shapers’ experiences, to put resources on contemporary dance in the Mediterranean region in common, and to forge links between actors, both professional and amateur.

 

Academic research paper

Since this project endeavours to have a long term outcome, to foster exchanges of know-how among the different stakeholders, a mapping of the various actors and practices in the field of dance in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as in neighbouring countries, will be carried out. Its aim will be to instil new dynamics for the development of dance within this region.

بداية من ابريل 2016 و حتى سبتمبر 2018، سيقوم ثمانية راقصين ناشئين بالتدرب من خلال المشاركة فى خلق قطعة راقصة لتختبر علاقتهم بالمدينة، ساحات العرض ، المارة، و المساحات العامة. سوف يختبروا قدراتهم الفنية فى الرقص من خلال تنقلهم بين بلدان المتوسط و مخاطبة امكانياتهم الفنية بوضعها على الدوام فى نسق و سياقات مختلفة و متنوعة، ما يسهم فى تنمية علاقة غير اعتيادية بالعمل المتعلق بالاماكن مع مرور الوقت

يقام على هامش العملية الابداعية عدة مشاريع تساهم فى تواصل المشغلين و الفنانين مع الجماهير، ممكنة اياهم من الافادة من الخبرات المتشاركة فى اطار تعاونى أورو-متوسطى متكافئ و مستدام. و هذا من خلال العمل مع من يشاركونا نفس الافكار بخصوص هذا الأمر من فنانين و صحافيين و باحثين و مدربين و معماريين و مطورين حضريين

تم بناء مشروع Shapers من خلال التعاون بين جميع الشركاء المنظمين فى 2015. لكنهم يتيحون المجال لفرص التعاون المحتملة مستقبلاُ . كما وفروا المرونة اللازمة فى تشغيل المشروع لترك اكبر مساحة ممكنة للتعاون على مستوى قاعدى، و من ثُم اعادة ضبط المشروع اثناء عملية التطبيق

 

التدريب أثناء خلق عرض راقص

البرنامج التدريبي للراقصين المحترفين

بدأ التدريب من شهر أبريل 2016 مع أول ورشة عمل مفتوحة للراقصين السكندريين و القاهريين فى اطار مهرجان نسيم الرقص. و يشمل المشروع فى مجمله على برنامج شامل يتكون من ورشتىي عمل، اربعة أقامات فنية، أربعة محاضرات متقدمة، و جولة دولية . ينتهي البرنامج في صيف 2018

بينما البرنامج مفتوح فى العموم للراقصين الثمانية، فإن ورش العمل و المحاضرات المتقدمة تستهدف نطاقاُ اوسع من الراقصين المحترفين أو ممن فى طريقهم للاحتراف

إن تصميم عرض راقص لثمانية راقصين هو أساس المشروع التعاوني

 

المحاضرات المتقدمة

تعقد سلسلة من المحاضرات المتقدمة خلال 2017-2018 بين مرسيليا، الدار البيضاء، الاسكندرية ، و إشبيلية. سيقدم كل محاضرة منهم مصمم رقصات يستضيفه المشروع لهذا الغرض، حيث تقام المحاضرات في مقرات المنظمات المشاركة فى التنظيم. و هي مفتوحة للراقصين الثمانية الذين شاركوا فى عملية الخلق الابداعي إلى جانب راقصين اخرين سواء كانوا محترفين أو في طريقهم إلى الاحتراف

الجولة الدولية

انتقال الراقصين و الشركاء المنظمين للمشروع خلال الجولة حول مهرجانات الرقص فى منطقة حوض المتوسط و ما وراءها تمنح الفرصة لعرض هذه التجربة التعاونية امام جمهور عريض و امام المهتمين باعمال هذا المجال. كما يمنح هذا السياق فرصة عظيمة للراقصين من اجل التعلم، كمصدر للتجربة الاحترافية، و كطريقة لتدعيم خلفيتهم الفنية و ذلك من خلال الاحتكاك بثقافات مختلفة

مؤتمران عن الرقص المرتبط بالموقع

يعقد اثناء المشروع مؤتمرين، يحضرهما نخبة من المحاضرين المتميزين، و المتخصصين فى مجال الرقص فى المساحات العامة. سوف يقوموا بفتح روافد جديدة للافكار و طرق لاستكشاف بعض الاسس الفنية الشائعة. يعقد المؤتمر الأول فى مرسيليا في نوفمبر 2017، بينما يعقد الاخر في دوسلدورف فى اطار مهرجان Tanzmesse –سبتمبر 2018

 

اجتماعان دوليان

إلى جانب الاجتماعات الدورية المعتادة للشركاء المنظمين للمشروع، يعقد على نطاق اوسع اجتماعان فى كلا من سراييڨو و لشبونة تباعاً فى 2017 و 2018 و ذلك بهدف طرح افكار جديدة للتعاون فى مجال الرقص في المساحات العامة، و وضعها حيز التنفيذ في حوض البحر المتوسط

 

المنصة الرقمية

سيتم اطلاق مدخل ويب خاص بهدف مشاركة و نشر خبرات المشروع،و لوضع موارد و مصادر الرقص المعاصر في حوض المتوسط في المتناول. كذلك لخلق روابط بين الجهات الفاعلة فى المجال، المحترف منها و الهاو

ورقة بحث أكاديمي

لما كان المشروع يسعى لخلق ناتج مستدام، و يرعى التبادل في المعرفة العملية فيما بين العاملين المجال، فقد تقرر عمل ترسيم بجميع الجهات الفاعلة فى مجال الرقص فى البوسنة و الهرسك و الدول المجاورة لها. و تهدف هذه المبادرة لغرس ديناميكية لتطوير الرقص في هذه المنطقة

Au départ du projet de coopération Shapers, il y a l’engagement de partenaires de longue date sur les deux rives de la Méditerranée, chorégraphes, festivals, lieux de résidence : Ex Nihilo [Marseille], Rézodanse [Alexandrie], Momkin – espaces de possibles [Marseille] et le festival Nassim el Raqs [Alexandrie] , Mes de Danza, Festival international de danse contemporaine [Séville], Espace Darja [Casablanca], Festival Zvrk, Festival international de danse contemporaine [Sarajevo], in’8 circle • maison de production [Marseille].

Il y a la volonté d’inscrire dans le temps la question de la formation, d’accompagner l’émergence de dynamiques artistiques dans l’espace public en Méditerranée, de promouvoir des valeurs de partage, de coopération équitable et de citoyenneté.

 

De avril 2016 à septembre 2018, huit jeunes danseurs issus d’Egypte, de France, d’Espagne et du Maroc vont se former en participant à la création d’une pièce chorégraphique, interroger le rapport à la ville, aux lieux, aux passants, à l’espace public. Sillonnant la Méditerranée et l’Europe, mettant sans cesse en jeu cette écriture chorégraphique dans de nouveaux contextes, laissant au temps le soin de déposer les fondements de l’apprentissage d’un rapport singulier à un art in situ.

 

Autour de cette création, toute une série de projets s’inventent pour relier opérateurs, artistes publics, permettant à chacun des acteurs de s’enrichir d’expériences partagées à travers une coopération euro-méditerranéenne équitable et durable. Rencontrer ceux qui partagent nos questionnements : artistes, journalistes, chercheurs, formateurs, architectes, urbanistes…

 

Shapers s’est écrit et co-construit avec l’ensemble des partenaires co-organisateurs tout au long de 2015. Pour autant, ceux-ci ont souhaité laisser ouverts des espaces pour de nouvelles collaborations possibles, des endroits de souplesse dans la conduite du projet, pour laisser la place la plus grande possible à des collaborations avec des acteurs du territoire et permettre au projet de s’ajuster tout au long de son déploiement.

 

Le projet Shapers bénéficie du soutien de l’Union Européenne sur le programme Europe Créative 2016-2018. Il est impulsé et porté par Ex Nihilo en tant que chef de file.

Une formation de danseurs interprètes

Commencée en avril 2016 avec un premier workshop à destination des danseurs alexandrins et cairotes dans le cadre du Festival Nassim El Raqs, la formation s’articule autour de deux workshops, quatre résidences, quatre masterclass et une tournée internationale. Elle s’achèvera à la fin de la tournée à l’été 2018.

Si le processus complet de formation est ouvert à huit danseurs, les workshops et masterclass sont ouverts à un plus large public de danseurs professionnels ou en professionnalisation.

 

Une création chorégraphique

Pièce de groupe pour huit danseurs, elle est l’armature du dispositif de coopération.

 

Masterclass

Un cycle de quatre masterclass se tiendra en 2017-2018 à Marseille, Casablanca, Alexandrie et Séville. Elles seront dirigées par un chorégraphe invité par la structure d’accueil. Elles sont ouvertes aux interprètes de la création Shapers et à tous les danseurs volontaires, professionnels et ou en cours de professionnalisation.

Une tournée internationale

Point d’appui pour la mobilité des danseurs et partenaires du projet, la tournée dans les festivals de la région méditerranéenne et au-delà permettra de porter à la connaissance des publics et professionnels cette expérience de coopération. Elle estaussi un formidable endroit de formation pour les danseurs, que ce soit en terme d’expérience professionnelle que de développement de la culture chorégraphique et de rencontres avec d’autres cultures.

 

Deux conférences sur la danse in situ

Instrument de réflexion, de mise en commun d’une pensée artistique, deux conférences invitant des personnalités références de la danse en espace public, ponctueront le développement du projet Shapers. La première à Marseille en Novembre 2017, la deuxième à Düsseldorf dans le cadre de l’Internationale Tanzmesse en septembre 2018.

 

Deux rencontres internationales

Au-delà des réunions des partenaires actuels du projet, deux réunions élargies se tiendront à Sarajevo et à Lisbonne respectivement en 2017 et 2018 pour réfléchir sur de nouveaux axes de coopération à mettre en place en méditerranée autour de la danse en espace public.

 

Une plateforme numérique

Un site-plateforme sera créé pour retracer et partager l’expérience de Shapers, mettre en commun des ressources sur la danse contemporaine en Méditerranée, créer des liens entre les acteurs, les amateurs.

 

Une étude

Parce que ce projet a l’ambition de porter ses fruits sur le long terme, parce qu’il est aussi le vecteur d’échanges de savoir-faire entre ses opérateurs, une recherche sera menée en Bosnie-Herzégovine et dans les pays voisins pour établir un repérage des acteurs et des pratiques autour de la danse en vue d’ancrer de nouvelles dynamiques sur ce territoire en matière de développement chorégraphique.
